Minority Cell

Introduction

Panskura Banamali College (Autonomous) has constituted a Minority Cell to support students belonging to minority communities as per Government norms. The Cell promotes equality, ensures access to welfare schemes, and maintains a supportive environment for academic and personal growth. The initiative reflects the college’s commitment to inclusiveness and social justice.



Objectives

The major objectives of the Minority Cell are:

  • To provide assistance and guidance to students from minority communities
  • To disseminate information regarding scholarships, fellowships and welfare schemes
  • To ensure fair and equal treatment without discrimination
  • To support academic, cultural and personal development
  • To address grievances and facilitate redressal

Functions and Activities

The Cell undertakes the following activities:

  • Identification and registration of minority students
  • Guidance in applying for scholarships and financial aid
  • Conducting awareness programmes and counselling sessions
  • Organising seminars, special lectures and career orientation
  • Coordination with departments, administration and government agencies
  • Maintaining a helpdesk for information and support

Outreach programmes are organised to encourage active participation of minority students in institutional activities.

The Cell provides support through:

  • Regular interaction with students
  • Mentoring and counselling services
  • Assistance in documentation for scholarship applications
  • Monitoring of academic progress and welfare needs
  • Facilitation of hostel admission where required
