Welcome to our beautiful college campus! At Panskura Banamali College, we strive with utmost sincerity to impart knowledge and training that go beyond textbooks. Brief History & Legacy
- The foundation stone of the college was laid on 14 December 1960, thanks to the efforts and generosity of the local community. The college was established to fulfill the long-cherished dream of bringing higher education to Panskura and adjacent areas.
- The college is named after its principal benefactor, Late Banamali Charan Khatua, who donated resources for building the institution; the land itself was donated by Late Hasmat Ali Khan and his co-sharers.
- Over the decades, Panskura Banamali College has become a symbol of aspiration for higher education and excellence in the region, enabling generations of students—many from rural backgrounds—to access quality higher education.
Academic Profile & Offerings
As an institution affiliated to Vidyasagar University, the college offers a wide range of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses across science, arts, and commerce streams.
- Undergraduate courses: B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.C.A., along with professional and career-oriented courses.
- Postgraduate courses: PG programmes in eight subjects across Science and Arts (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Geography, Bengali, History, and Physical Education).
- Additionally, the college offers teacher-training (B.Ed.), physical-education courses (B.P.Ed.), and a recently introduced M.P.Ed. course, expanding opportunities for students interested in education and physical education disciplines.
- The diversity of courses, combined with flexible scheduling (Day, Morning/Extended Day, and Evening sections), allows students from different backgrounds and commitments to pursue higher education.

Panskura Banamali College holds autonomous status — a mark of trust from regulatory bodies, allowing greater flexibility in academic and administrative decisions (since 2018–19 session) under the affiliation of Vidyasagar University.
